Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves safely managing inventory, operating various types of forklifts, and operating a band saw to cut steel products down to their desired length . The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with measurement tools , and the ability to perform heavy lifting. This position is essential for maintaining smooth manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift to move materials within the the yard and shop.
- Cut steel beams down to desired length for production operations.
- Manage inventory by loading, unloading, and organizing stock in designated areas
- Use warehouse management system (WMS) software to track inventory levels and update records
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and products as required, adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating the flow of goods throughout the facility
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics preferred
- Valid forklift license or certification.
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements
- Experience using hand tools and measuring devices
- Experience using band saw, and working in fabrication shop is an asset.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy loads regularly
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
