We are searching for monitors for each of our three locations across the GTA:

Downtown Toronto (King & Bay)

North York (Yonge & Sheppard)

Mississauga (Square One)

What does a legal examination monitor do?

Every day, hundreds of lawyers book boardrooms across our three locations in the GTA. They’ll meet witnesses and examine them over the course of several hours to discover important information pertaining to their lawsuit. We arrange for a freelance monitor or court reporter to be present throughout the proceeding to ensure that the audio is properly recorded, and to transcribe as much information as possible while in the room.

Record proceedings and take detailed notes during legal examinations in our boardrooms

Compensation & Freelance Structure

As a freelance legal examination monitor you are not an employee. You set your own schedule day-to-day or week-to-week. We can typically offer 4 days of work per week. If you are scheduled for a day, you will work anywhere between 1 and 8 hours - depending on the length of the examination. However you will be paid for a minimum of 4 hours anytime you come in.

You will invoice us for your time and be paid bi-weekly for your services based on how many hours you’ve worked in a given period. We typically pay freelance monitors $20 / hour.

Post-Secondary Education

Proven experience in a customer or client-facing role (eg. retail, cafe, restaurant) OR in the law industry

Exceptional customer service skills

Attention to detail and strong organization skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and good typing skills

Professional attitude to excel in a fast-paced legal environment

Interest in a career in law is an asset
