Bruce Power is currently seeking an experienced and talented Information Technology Technician to join our team within the Information Technology Division.
This position works directly with other teams and team members within IT, internal customers and business units across Bruce Power and external vendors and partners to provide:
IT Service Desk support (break/fix and ‘how to’ assistance to Bruce Power employees, contractors and partners regarding all IT services, typically over the phone or through email)
IT Field Service support (‘hand’s on’ desk-side support, equipment drop-off and pick-up, physical installation, operation, maintenance and removal of computing, networking and telecommunications equipment)
IT Vendor Management support (initial procurement and renewal, receipt, assignment and tracking, operational and life-cycle support and decommissioning of IT assets including software, software licenses, hardware and services).

IT procurement - including requesting quotes for software, hardware and services, purchasing and/or renewing software, hardware and services, receiving software, hardware and services and reconciling invoices for software, hardware and services in collaboration with contract managers and solution owners across Bruce Power.
IT asset management - including organizing, managing and controlling IT software, hardware and service assets as well as maintaining an inventory of Bruce Power software, hardware and support contracts.
Remote and in-person support - including remote and face-to-face troubleshooting, software and hardware configuration/installation/removal and IT equipment life-cycle activities.
Create, prioritize, maintain and document the resolution of customer requests within the Bruce Power IT ticketing system.
Plan and perform equipment modifications, as required.
Perform system administration and configuration activities (including software installation), as required.
Reconcile IT software, hardware and service budget to actuals and explain variances.
Coordinate and collaborate on the resolution of technical and licensing issues across IT teams.
Identify and actively contribute to advancing opportunities that continuously improve the day-to-day processes used by IT Technicians and the service provided to our peers, colleagues and customers.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the IT Technician team and provide input, perspective and recommendations to improve the safety, quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the products and services delivered to Bruce Power by IT.

Experience with technology licensing and installations, maintenance and repair work on computer equipment (e.g. end users computing devices, communications equipment, local & wide area network, equipment and peripherals).
Education and Experience:
This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired by successful completion of a 2-year college program with concentrated study in computer technology.
CompTIA IT Fundamentals, A+, Network+, Server+, CCENT, CCNA, HDI and/or equivalent certifications will be an asset.
A period of up to four years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
