Boart Longyear is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician (Millwright – 433A) to support equipment reliability and production uptime in a unionized manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, with a strong focus on mechanical systems, hydraulics, alignment, and precision maintenance. The Millwright will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.
Rate: $38.50/hour

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including conveyors, presses, CNC equipment, and automated systems

Execute precision alignment, leveling, and calibration of machinery (e.g., shafts, bearings, gearboxes)

Disassemble, repair, and reassemble industrial equipment, replacing worn or defective components

Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to support troubleshooting and repairs

Support installation, commissioning, and relocation of equipment as required

Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions in a timely manner

Apply and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) and all safety procedures

Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection logs

Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and other trades to improve equipment reliability and performance

Perform other related duties as assigned
Key Skills & Competencies-
Mechanical Expertise: Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, bearings, lubrication systems, and mechanical drives

Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose complex equipment failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA)

Precision Maintenance: Skilled in alignment, tolerances, and vibration awareness

Preventive Maintenance: Experience with PM programs and reliability practices

Safety Compliance: Strong adherence to safety standards, including LOTO and safe work practices

Documentation: Accurate and timely completion of maintenance records

Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a unionized, cross-functional environment

Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Qualifications
Education & Certification-
High school diploma or equivalent required

Valid Millwright License (433A Industrial Mechanic) required
Experience-
Minimum 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience with CNC machinery, automated systems, or heavy industrial equipment is an asset
Languages
Physical & Work Environment-
Work Environment: Manufacturing shop floor

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, bending, climbing, working in confined spaces as required)
