Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Produce Clerk to join our grocery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fresh produce, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized department. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication are essential. As a Produce Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the freshness and presentation of produce, assisting customers, and supporting overall store operations.
Duties
- Stock, organize, and display fresh produce items according to merchandising standards
- Assist customers with inquiries about produce selections and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness of the produce department, including cleaning displays and equipment
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness and proper inventory levels
- Ensure proper labeling and pricing of produce items
- Support maintenance tasks to keep the department tidy and safe
- Collaborate with team members to meet department goals and ensure smooth daily operations
Experience
- Prior retail sales or grocery store experience is preferred but not required
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, or inventory management is a plus
- Customer service experience is highly valued to enhance shopper satisfaction
- Strong communication skills are essential for teamwork and customer interactions
- Organizational skills are necessary to manage stock rotation and maintain an attractive display
- Ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to handle a physically demanding job
- Must be able to work all evenings and weekends
Pay: $18.50-$20.00 per hour
