Make an impact with our National Tax Services Group as a Tax Technician. This diverse team of professionals provides best-in-class industry and technical expertise to internally drive the success of our Tax practice. As a trusted advisor, you’ll work internally to support the delivery of tax compliance services and the communication of tax matters.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the completion of tax engagements by computing taxes owed, preparing personal and corporate tax returns (and other compliance slips), preparing year-end tax forms (T4s and T5s), calculating and reviewing share capital
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
- Prepare journal entries and provide bookkeeping services
- Review legal documents such as articles of incorporation, purchase agreements and amalgamation agreements
- Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
- Correspond with clients and various government agencies to address client tax compliance issues
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights
- Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Skills and Experience
- Post-secondary degree or certificate in accounting or another relevant field
- The following would be considered an asset:
- Experience in an accounting, customer service and/or client service environment
- Experience in financial statement analysis and preparation of tax returns
- Experience working with accounting and tax software
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act
