About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and customer-friendly Grocery Store Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping the store well-stocked, organized, and clean while delivering excellent service to every customer who walks through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
Cashier / Front End
- Process customer transactions accurately using the POS system
- Handle cash, debit, and credit payments
- Issue receipts and process returns or exchanges
- Greet customers warmly and assist with queries at the counter
Stock Management
- Receive, unpack, and organize incoming inventory deliveries
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays in a timely manner
- Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) method
- Conduct regular stock counts and report low inventory levels
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory tracking
Merchandising
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked, faced, and neatly presented at all times
- Set up promotional displays and signage as directed
- Monitor product expiry dates and remove expired items promptly
- Maintain planogram standards where applicable
Store Operations & Cleanliness
- Open and/or close the store following standard procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of all store areas including aisles, counters, and backroom
- Follow health, safety, and food handling guidelines
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to the manager
What We’re Looking For
- Previous retail, grocery, or convenience store experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Reliable, punctual, and honest
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30–40 lbs
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash
- Good communication and customer service skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.70-$19.00 per hour
