Cook (Part-Time) – Independent Seniors Residence
2 Days Per Week
We are a warm and welcoming independent seniors home with approximately 20 residents seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our team on a part-time basis.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing home-style meals, working independently, and creating a positive dining experience for seniors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve all resident meals according to established cycle menus
- Make appropriate substitutions when ingredients or products are unavailable and document menu changes as required
- Ensure meals are prepared and delivered on schedule
- Coordinate kitchen workflow and provide direction and support to serving staff
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, infection control, and workplace safety
- Monitor compliance with Food Safe and WorkSafeBC standards
- Participate in menu planning and ongoing menu improvements
- Operate kitchen and food preparation equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized cooking program (minimum 12 months) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong kitchen leadership and meal preparation experience
- Food Safe Level 1 and Level 2 certification
- Experience in seniors care, retirement living, or institutional cooking is an asset

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
