EVENT RENTAL OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
DEPARTMENT: Operations
LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB & Field
HOURS: As scheduled - must be available evenings and weekends
MANAGER: Event Logistics Coordinator, Eventwares Manager, Field Supervisor
REVIEW PERIOD: Semi-annually
COMPENSATION: $16.50/hour - $19/Hour (Bi-weekly)
Responsibilities
As an Event Operations Technician, you'll play a key role in bringing events to life. From weddings and festivals to trade shows and corporate events, you'll help deliver exceptional experiences while ensuring every setup meets Pinnacle's high standards.
You'll be responsible for:
- Delivering, setting up, and dismantling event rentals safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Installing tents, flooring, staging, trade show equipment, tables, chairs, linens, décor, and other event infrastructure.
- Inspecting orders before leaving the warehouse to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Performing final quality checks before turning an event over to the client.
- Acting as the on-site lead when a supervisor is not present by coordinating crew members and maintaining workflow.
- Providing outstanding customer service by communicating professionally with clients on-site.
- Following all company safety policies and industry best practices.
- Operating company vehicles, trailers, and equipment safely.
- Identifying maintenance needs and reporting equipment concerns.
- Maintaining clean, organized work vehicles, job sites, and warehouse areas.
- Looking for opportunities to improve efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement.

You should have:
- Experience leading or mentoring a crew in a construction, events, logistics, or related industry.
- The ability to confidently install event equipment with minimal supervision (training provided for Pinnacle systems).
- A strong understanding of tent structures, anchoring and ballasting methods, tools, hardware, and safe installation practices (or the willingness to develop this expertise).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules, weather, and customer requests.
- A commitment to safety, professionalism, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- The ability to work independently while supporting and motivating teammates.
Qualifications
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Full driver's licence or higher.
- Comfortable driving company trucks and willing to learn to tow and back trailers up to 32 feet.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual labour throughout the day.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Able to operate (or learn to operate) company equipment and machinery safely.
- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Willing to complete all required company training.
Pay: $16.50-$19.00 per hour
