Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Material Preparation Coordinator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will oversee the planning, organization, and execution of material readiness to ensure seamless production flow. Your expertise in supply chain management, demand planning, and ERP systems will drive efficiency and accuracy in material handling. Responsibilities
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely preparation and availability of materials for manufacturing processes
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle to manage inventory levels, track material movements, and update demand forecasts
- Collaborate with demand planning teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) outputs
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to prevent shortages or excess stock
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize material flow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of material preparation activities, including documentation within ERP systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process bottlenecks and suggesting solutions for streamlined operations
- Prepare and stage materials for upcoming production orders
- Provide coverage for the Plant 2 Supervisor when required
- Operate a forklift to move and organize inventory
- Count and verify materials to ensure order accuracy
- Complete inventory transactions in IQMS
- Help keep materials organized and production running smoothly
- Assist with warehouse and inventory activities
Requirements
- Proven experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle in a manufacturing or supply chain setting
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and demand planning processes
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) software and supply chain management tools
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and coordinate activities seamlessly
- Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, inventory management, and procurement procedures
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
