Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Painter to join our custom car and restoration shop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, applying paint and finishes, and ensuring high-quality results. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of automotive painting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued to ensure seamless integration with our repair processes.
Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Mix and match paints to achieve the correct color match for each vehicle
- Apply paint using spray guns, brushes, or rollers, ensuring even coverage and smooth finishes
- Use power tools and hand tools for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Perform touch-ups and detailed painting work as needed to meet quality standards
- Assist with vehicle repairs that require mechanical knowledge or heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols related to automotive painting and use of chemicals
Experience
- Prior dealership experience in auto body painting or related automotive repair fields is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with automotive repair enhance job performance
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment used in auto body painting
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when moving parts or equipment
- Mechanic experience is a plus, providing a broader understanding of vehicle systems and repairs
- Previous experience working with automotive paints, primers, and finishes is highly desirable
