Nuxalk Acwsalcmlslayc Academy of Learning Society office is located at 4-Mile Subdivision in Nuxalk territory. Acwsalcta School is one of the most architecturally beautiful schools in BC, and features exquisite design by local Nuxalk artists. Our school is a K-12 school, and boasts a nursery program, along with a separate Adult Education Centre. Acwsalcta School is an independent school, and offers many locally developed courses along with the Ministry of Education's graduation program.
Acwsalcta School offers a large range of programs including Outdoor Education, Traditional Foods and Nuxalk Language and Culture classes.

- Acwsalcta School has one teaching opportunity available, a grade 4 classroom teacher (full time) for the 2019-2020 school year.
-A relocation allowance of $1,500.00 is offered to the successful candidate
-Subsided housing is offered to the successful candidate, with a monthly rent between $475-$600/month. The housing units are furnished, as well.
-must have a Bachelor of Education and a current BC Teaching Certificate (or eligible to apply for BC Teaching Certificate)
-must be willing to work collaboratively with other staff members to meet school goals and vision
-demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture, and a willing to learn and implement Nuxalk teachings into the classroom
-demonstrates the understanding of a community school, and involves the community and families in the school events
-must be knowledgeable in the BC Curriculum
- must be willing to work with the First Nations Schools Association in Professional Learning Communities
-must be willing to be coached in Professional Growth
