** This posting is for one (1) Full-Time Permanent position and one (1) Full-Time Temporary position that may be extended up to 18 months in accordance to Section 18.02 of the Collective Agreement **

The Data Entry Unit of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has an opportunity for two (2) Police Records Clerks to enter police files onto the Records Management System (RMS). Responsibilities will include:

  • Entering traffic ticket data onto EPS Records Management System (EPROS).
  • Collecting, sorting, processing, distributing, and retrieving EPS documents on hard copy or on RMS.
  • Proofreading, preparing and statistical coding for RMS traffic ticket entries.
  • Detecting and referring classification errors identified through system edits.
  • Performing other related duties.
Qualifications :
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in microcomputer applications.
  • A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
  • Extensive data entry experience is a requirement.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a large team environment.
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately process a high volume of work under the pressure of a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows with the aptitude to learn various computer software programs.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Course work in in Records Management or Police Studies would be an asset.
  • Proven accuracy is a mandatory requirement.
  • Applicants may be tested.
  • THE EDMONTON POLICE SERVICE WILL CONDUCT AN ENHANCED SECURITY CLEARANCE ON THOSE CANDIDATES WHO HAVE BEEN SHORT-LISTED
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, between the hours of 0700 – 1530, Monday – Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

Salary Range:
21B, Salary Grade: 007, $22.36 - $27.76 (Hourly), $1,788.90 - $2,221.20 (Bi-Weekly), $46,689.77 - $57,973.32 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton that expired on December 22, 2018.
