Job Summary
The Human Resource Manager is responsible for managing daily people operations and owns the full employee lifecycle for our growing team. This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable wearing many hats — from recruiting and onboarding to compliance, compensation, and employee relations — and who enjoys building HR processes as much as running them day to day.
You will be the primary point of contact for all things people-related, partnering closely with department managers and leadership to attract, develop, and retain talent while ensuring the company stays compliant with employment law and operates with consistent, fair policies. This role is responsible for managing people, ensuring compliance, supporting employee development, and aligning workforce goals with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing
- Partner with department managers to identify hiring needs
- Create job descriptions and post job openings
- Screen resumes, shortlist candidates, and coordinate interviews
- Manage the selection process, job offers, and pre-employment steps
Onboarding & Orientation
- Prepare onboarding materials, documents, and new-hire paperwork
- Introduce new employees to company policies, culture, and expectations
- Coordinate initial training and ensure smooth integration into teams
Employee Relations
- Maintain a positive, respectful work environment
- Address employee concerns, complaints, and workplace conflicts
- Support fair treatment and consistent application of workplace discipline
Performance Management
- Develop and maintain performance appraisal processes
- Monitor employee performance and support managers in conducting evaluations
- Provide feedback frameworks and performance improvement plans
Training & Development
- Identify skill gaps and training needs across teams
- Organize workshops, seminars, and professional development programs
- Support career growth planning and succession planning
Compensation & Benefits
- Coordinate salary structures and support payroll processing
- Administer employee benefits programs (insurance, bonuses, etc.)
- Help ensure compensation packages remain competitive
- Process promotions and salary revisions
Compliance & Legal
- Ensure company policies comply with applicable federal, provincial, and local labor laws
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and documentation
- Support workplace safety and ethics compliance
- Manage employment contracts and other HR-related legal matters
Policy Development
- Create and update HR policies and procedures, including the employee handbook
- Communicate company rules and guidelines clearly to staff
- Ensure consistent policy implementation across the organization
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Plan events, activities, and team-building programs
- Promote workplace morale and employee satisfaction
- Monitor employee engagement levels and recommend improvements
- Support diversity and inclusion initiatives
Attendance & Leave Management
- Track employee attendance and work hours
- Manage leave requests (vacation, sick leave, FMLA, etc.)
- Maintain accurate time and attendance records
HR Administration
- Maintain employee databases and HR information systems
- Prepare HR reports and documentation for leadership
- Handle HR correspondence and official employee communications
Exit Management
- Conduct exit interviews
- Process resignations and terminations
- Ensure smooth offboarding procedures
- Track and analyze turnover trends
About You
- Post-secondary education and certification in Human Resources field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR generalist, HR coordinator, or similar role
- Working knowledge of Canadian and British Columbia employment standards and law
- Experience with HRIS/HR software and payroll coordination
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills; sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- CPHR designation (or working toward it)
Job Details
- 3 days per week in-office-based role with regular interaction with internal teams.

Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
