Overview
you will join our Data Management Advisory Services team as a Power BI Technical Implementation Specialist. You will be accountable for developing and implementing advanced Power BI reports and dashboards that support real-time decision-making and department-level reporting functions for our upstream oil and gas client. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and technical staff to translate complex data into actionable insights. Your role will also include migrating reports from Spotfire to Power BI and leveraging Power BI Embedded and PowerApps to deliver robust reporting solutions. Note: this position is for a senior-level implementation specialist.
Duties
- Design, develop, and implement Power BI reports and dashboards with a focus on upstream oil and gas data.
- Utilize Power BI Embedded to deploy reports and dashboards in various applications and platforms.
- Collaborate directly with engineering, operations, and technical teams to gather and define reporting requirements.
- Develop PowerApps solutions that integrate with Power BI reports to enhance data interactivity and usability.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Utilize scripting languages such as R or Python for data analysis, automation, and advanced visualization.
- Lead and manage the migration of reports from Spotfire to Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and continuity.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and reporting solutions.
- Stay current with the latest Power BI and data visualization trends, best practices, and technologies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Power BI specialist with a focus on oil and gas (upstream) data sets.
- Strong experience with Power BI Embedded, PowerApps, and scripting languages such as R or Python.
- Significant SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries and perform data modeling.
- Experience working directly with engineering, operations, and technical staff to develop and refine reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience migrating a large number of reports from Spotfire to Power BI is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data interpretation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $70.00-$100.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 40 per week
