The Human Resources Coordinator provides comprehensive HR support across West Edmonton Mall, Fantasyland Hotel, and West Edmonton Mall Inn. This role is well suited for a proactive and growth-oriented HR professional who is eager to build experience in HRIS development, program implementation, and training initiatives within a dynamic environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of HR programs and initiatives, with a focus on employee engagement and retention.
- Screening, responding, and forwarding (as needed) to emails, phone inquiries, and requests from employees, department leaders, and external business partners.
- Contributing to the effectiveness of the Human Resources department by actively engaging in full cycle recruitment and supporting employee retention strategies and programs.
- Collaborate with the HR & HRIS Manager on the development, rollout, and continuous improvement of Dayforce talent modules and related HRIS processes.
- Assisting in identifying opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve system utilization across departments.
- Providing guidance to departments on policy interpretation, HR programs, and services, and expand HR expertise through involvement in various employee matters.
- Supporting training program development/delivery.
- Assisting with onboarding or employee education initiatives.
- Serving as a backup to the Talent Acquisition Coordinator for all recruitment-related activities and the Office Assistant as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management.
- A minimum of 2 years of previous progressive HR experience.
- Previous working experience in Human Resources functions such as employee relations, general recruitment activities, training, and development, etc.
- Exposure to HRIS systems (Dayforce preferred) and an interest in systems and process improvement.
- Experience or strong interest in training, onboarding, or employee development initiatives.
- Strong initiative and a proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to confidently present to groups.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy in written communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- This is a full-time position required Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5pm for 7.5 hours per day.
- This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications.
- This position is also eligible for participation in our 4-day work week program.
- This position will work on-site within the Human Resources office in West Edmonton Mall.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
