The Bail Verification and Supervision Program is currently seeking a Bail Supervisor for the Peel/Dufferin region. This is a 12-month contract position covering a maternity leave, working 35 hours per week, with a potential start date of July 27th, 2026.
The position is cross jurisdictional and will require travel between the Peel and Dufferin regions. The position may require weekend court coverage with the potential of weekday court coverage based on the needs of the bail team. All duties and responsibilities will be carried out in a flexible work model, requiring three in-person office days per week which may include one late reporting day.
Bail Supervisors are responsible for supervision and case management of clients along with court-based responsibilities. Potential clients are screened for program suitability, Bail Supervisors then provides service planning and support to individuals who are on bail and awaiting completion of their matters. Bail Supervisors address immediate needs and risk factors associated with involvement in the criminal justice system. Bail Supervisors are responsible for enhancing community safety by monitoring and enforcing conditions of Release Orders, including but not limited to preparing warrants.
Bail Supervisors assess the individuals needs in order to develop the plan of supervision including but not limited to establishing reporting requirements, maintaining a current understanding of resources/services available in the community, and advocate for clients to relevant service providers within the courts and community.
Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field
- A minimum of 2 years case management experience is preferred
- Understanding of working within a framework of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Understanding of working with clients involved in the criminal justice system
- Understanding of the criminal justice system
- Knowledge of and proficiency in current approaches for mental health
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written and computer literacy
- Reliable judgment and maintenance of boundaries is required when dealing with clients and other service providers and stakeholders
- A valid license with routine access to a vehicle is required as this position may routinely work out of more than one location
