The Senior Bell Valet Attendant plays a key role in delivering exceptional, personalized guest experiences from arrival to departure while supporting the Bell Valet Captain in the daily operation of the Bell & Valet team. As one of the first and last team members guests encounter, the Senior Bell Valet Attendant sets a positive example by consistently demonstrating warm, anticipatory, and professional service in accordance with Forbes Five-Star standards and the values of Spring Creek Resorts.
This position serves as a lead team member, assisting with day-to-day operations, mentoring new and existing Bell & Valet Attendants, coordinating workflow during shifts, and helping ensure service standards are consistently achieved. The Senior Bell Valet Attendant works collaboratively with the Front Desk, Concierge, and Guest Services teams while supporting the Bell Valet Captain in maintaining an efficient, organized, and guest-focused arrival experience.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one (1) year of Bell and Valet experience in a luxury hotel environment, with demonstrated leadership potential and a passion for guest service. Previous experience mentoring or training team members is considered an asset. Preference will be given to candidates with a diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field.
A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license, a clean driver's abstract, and the ability to successfully complete a criminal record check are required. Standard First Aid & CPR certification is considered an asset. Training in luxury guest service, Guest Service Gold®, Forbes Travel Guide standards, WHMIS, Defensive Driving, or Les Clefs d'Or awareness is considered an asset.
The successful candidate must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, communication, and guest service skills while remaining calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. They must be able to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 35 kg. Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events is required.
DUTIES
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver exceptional, personalized guest service while creating memorable first and last impressions for every guest.
- Support the Bell Valet Captain in coordinating the daily workflow of the Bell & Valet team.
- Act as the senior team member in the absence of the Bell Valet Captain, ensuring service standards and operational expectations are maintained.
- Welcome arriving and departing guests with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Safely park, retrieve, and care for guest vehicles while maintaining accurate vehicle and key control procedures.
- Retrieve, deliver, store, and safeguard guest luggage promptly and professionally.
- Escort guests to their accommodations while introducing hotel amenities, in-room features, and resort services.
- Deliver guest messages, packages, amenities, and special requests efficiently.
- Assist with training, mentoring, and onboarding new Bell & Valet team members through coaching and leading by example.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to fellow team members while reinforcing luxury service standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the Bell Desk, porte cochère, lobby, and guest arrival areas.
- Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for The Malcolm Hotel and the Bow Valley by recommending local attractions, dining experiences, transportation, and resort amenities.
- Support the Concierge and Front Desk teams with guest inquiries, transportation arrangements, luggage coordination, and VIP arrivals.
- Anticipate guest needs, resolve concerns professionally, and escalate complex issues to the Bell Valet Captain or Guest Services leadership when appropriate.
- Assist with seasonal snow removal and maintain safe, welcoming guest entrances during winter conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all hotel safety policies, vehicle handling procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and leadership by example while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
