A career in our Accounting and Tax Reporting practice, within PwC Private, will provide you with the opportunity to help private companies with a range of business advisory services to resolve their day-to-day business issues and to help them achieve long-term success. You will advise clients on their local tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant, and will help them manage their tax obligations across unique but ever-changing tax specialties. Our team helps our clients with accounting and complex tax reporting. You will focus on planning and executing notice to reader and review engagements; drafting and filing local financial statements; reviewing personal trust and corporate income tax returns, and other tax reporting forms; and will assist with year-end planning and bookkeeping. Our PwC Private teams help entrepreneurs, private business owners and family enterprises manage their ownership and growth at every stage, in a way that fits the needs of their business in today's changing global landscape. PwC's Employment Tax, Payroll & Rewards group assists domestic and non-domestic clients in understanding their Canadian employer tax considerations when doing business in Canada. We provide a comprehensive suite of services which includes consulting services on cross border employment, domestic payroll including taxability of benefits, province of employment considerations, and we have a payroll processing team that supports our clients needs in an outsourced payroll function. In addition, our Rewards team focuses on stock compensation and other methods of rewarding employees by providing consulting and plan structuring advice. PwC Canada’s Employment Tax, Payroll & Rewards group works closely with other network firms around the globe to bring best practices and leading insight to our clients.
Meaningful work you’ll be a part of
As an Equity Compensation Employment Tax, Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, within PwC’s Employment Tax, Payroll & Rewards practice, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
Understanding the client issues regarding equity compensation, researching, and coming up with solutions to address their concerns
Consider the global workforce trends and the implications to Canadian and non-resident clients
Help clients navigate employment tax and rewards related issues including, but not limited to, payroll audits, cross border employee activity, equity compensation review and plan design
Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations
Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations
Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients
Develop new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems
Seek and embrace opportunities which give exposure to different situations, environments and perspectives
Experiences you’ll use to solve
Canadian and/or U.S. experience with the taxation of incentive and deferred compensation an asset;
Licensed to practice in the province or territory of work;
Ability to coach and mentor a team, bringing the best out in each team member;
Have an innovative mindset and consistently be looking for ways to improve our team and our client’s experience;
Have significant experience conducting, managing, and overseeing tax research and due diligence research on equity and incentive compensation matters, including:
Have significant experience conducting reviews of client equity and incentive plan compensation and drafting memoranda on employee and employer tax consequences; and
Be able to communicate professionally with all clients and the Canada Revenue Agency/Revenu Quebec;
Have a demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives.
This role has the option of being based out of our Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver offices.
PwC BC Region Pay Range Information
The salary range* for this position is $73,400 - $122,400, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual bonus payment. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon your skills, experience, qualifications and geographic location.
