About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Fleet Manager to join our team full-time, year-round, ideally with a passion for boating. You will primarily focus on member and fleet care at our HOB locations along the Lake Ontario waterfront, from Whitby to Hamilton, with a central focus on Downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and operate Skipperi’s fleet, ensuring boats are in top condition.
- Perform small repairs, boat preparation, transport for service, and general cleaning.
- Conduct training sessions for new members and assist less experienced members with boat handling.
- Provide member support via phone, email, and on-site at the dock.
- Assist with hiring, developing, and leading a team of seasonal fleet operations specialists.
- Manage vessel repairs, maintenance, and off-season preparations.
- Attend boat shows, analyze data from previous seasons, and plan for growth.
- Operate within a flexible schedule, including weekends and varying hours.
- Travel between harbors from Hamilton to Whitby, requiring a driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Boat trailering skills are a plus.
Requirements:
- Experience and fondness for boating.
- Knowledge of local waterways, marinas, service centers, and suppliers.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with excellent organizational skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing physical tasks.
- Strong planning skills and ability to handle varied tasks.
- Proficient in using technology and smartphones.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to create and manage spreadsheets, processes, and operational flows.
- Content creation for social media is a plus.
- Commitment to growing Skipperi in Toronto and beyond.
- Based in the Greater Toronto Area.
- A valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle is mandatory.
