Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage electronic medical records, and assist with administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. Experience in medical offices, familiarity with acurro, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
- Maintain and update electronic medical records using Accuro software
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prepare necessary documentation for appointments
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting payments and processing billing
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize provider availability and patient flow
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed, including filing, faxing, and scanning.
- Ensure compliance with PHIA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Handle administrative correspondence and manage office supplies to ensure operational efficiency
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Medical Office Assistant in a healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems in Accuro.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and dental office procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with multi-line phone systems and handling front desk responsibilities
- Office experience demonstrating administrative competence in healthcare or related fields
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and providers
- Knowledge of PHIA to ensure patient privacy and data security
