The Ministry of Social Services, Income Assistance Service Delivery, has an opportunity for a one year term full time service manager for the Regina Service Centre and area.

Our management team is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to provide vision, leadership, strategic orientation and support to Ministry staff in the delivery of programs, services and initiatives that foster economic independence. Some travel is required.

About the role:
Successful candidates will possess a business leadership management style that exemplifies respect, collaboration, consultation and empowerment to encourage and support employees in achieving success in their work and in the program initiatives, you will:

  • Manage the Income Assistance programs, through analysis, evaluation and monitor results ensuring consistent delivery, compliance and accountability is within program parameters;
  • Lead a team of highly trained and dedicated staff providing service and support for a large organizational network delivering Income Assistance programs, and
  • Develop and maintain effective work relations, partnerships and contract management with community partners.
To be successful:
Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job will be obtained through a university degree in Social Work, or a relevant undergraduate degree and progressive management experience in a human service program delivery setting, as well as several years supervising professional staff. You will be an excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills to lead and encourage a culture of empathy, innovation, promote diversity and provide direction to facilitate successful change initiatives within the Ministry modeling our core values in all work transactions. You will have knowledge and relevant management experience in:

  • Operational and legislative aspects of human service programs (income assistance);
  • Government and ministry strategic directions and priorities along with budget development, and contract management to achieve priorities;
  • Principles and practices of management and leadership, human resource management, and labour relations;
  • Understanding of various multi-cultural perspectives, values, beliefs, and awareness of varying socio–economic factors, demographics and issues experienced locally and provincially;
  • Understanding of other levels of government and community resources in order to achieve desired outcomes.
