Job Summary


Reporting to the Project Manager, the Intermediate Surveyor, will be responsible for recording, maintaining and managing survey field notes and records in accordance with corporate standard operating procedures. The Intermediate Surveyor will also be responsible for preparing survey data, project work records and safety documentation.


  • Construction Survey Experience is an asset
  • Record, maintain and manage survey field notes and records (in accordance with standard operating procedures)
  • Prepare corporate documentation including survey data, project work records and safety documents
  • Actively participate in corporate and client HSE Programs and corporate policies
  • Develop and maintain strong client and colleague/corporate relations
  • Maintain an accurate inventory record of all equipment and materials assigned
  • Maintain and care for corporate vehicles (includes maintaining survey supplies and keeping the truck clean and serviceable)

Working Conditions

  • This position works out of the Lacombe Office
  • This position requires an individual who is comfortable working in remote outdoor areas and who is physically fit

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications


Experience and Education

  • Post-secondary diploma in Geomatics (or equivalent)
  • Two to five years of experience in the Geomatics field
  • Construction Survey Experience is an asset
  • Physically fit and experience working in remote outdoor areas
  • Valid Class 5 Driver License (with a clean 5-year abstract)
  • CSTS, OSSA/BSO, First Aid and H2S Alive, Underground/line Locating certifications

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong work ethic and proven reliability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to learn, take directions and accept coaching feedback
  • Passion for excellence and attention to detail
