Job Overview
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Warehouse Attendant, is an integral part of the ALCO Energy Solutions team. The Warehouse Attendant receives, inspects and tags incoming and outgoing parts, materials and equipment, maintains accurate shipment and inventory records in the ERP system and safely operates a forklift to move materials through the warehouse. The role works closely with warehouse, yard, purchasing and production personnel to ensure the timely, seamless flow of materials through the facility.
Responsibilities
· Ensure that all material, parts and equipment received are inspected.
· Determine appropriate tag and marking requirements for all incoming or outgoing parts, ensuring material is marked properly.
· Ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are recorded in the ERP system.
· Retrieving paperwork for items received without the required paperwork.
· Identify “Rush” shipments and process materials accordingly.
· Safe operation of Forklift.
· Participate in all cycle and annual inventory counts.
· Receive shipments by checking packing slips, counting items and comparing them to purchase orders.
· Ensures incoming inspections are carried out on all customer products and received purchases.
· Release all incoming goods to the appropriate department after they have been inspected, write-ups and tagging.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in warehousing, logistics or supply chain.
· Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving or material handling role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
· Valid forklift certification, or the ability to obtain one, with demonstrated safe forklift operating skills.
· Familiar with ERP or inventory management systems for recording incoming and outgoing shipments.
· Ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders and shipping documentation.
· Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inspection, tagging and marking of parts and materials.
· Ability to identify and prioritize rush shipments in a fast-paced environment.
· Good organizational skills to support cycle counts and annual inventory counts.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with other departments.
· Fork lift certification would be an asset, not mandatory
Physical Requirements
· Ability to perform job duties that may require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including keyboarding, data entry and document handling
· Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, reach and stretch as required to perform job duties
· Ability to lift, carry, push or pull items 50lbs in accordance with safe work practices
· Ability to work in various environments (office, site, warehouse, etc.,) as required by the role
· Ability to operate standard office equipment or role-specific tools safely
· Ability to work regular work hours and occasional overtime, as required
