We’re a growing Genie Senior Services franchise serving York Region & Simcoe, and we’re looking for reliable, experienced movers to join our team.
This role starts part-time, with strong potential to grow into full-time as we expand.
This Is Not A Typical Moving Job
- Work is more structured with smaller average job sizes.
- Focus on care and quality, not rushing from job to job
- You’ll be helping seniors through an important life transition
- If you take pride in doing things properly and treating clients with respect, this role will be a great fit.
What You’ll Do
- Safely load and unload furniture and boxes
- Assist with packing and unpacking when needed
- Help set up furniture in clients’ new homes
- Work closely with a small team to complete moves efficiently
- Provide a professional, respectful experience for clients and families
What We’re Looking For
- Previous moving or physical labour experience preferred
- Physically capable of lifting and moving furniture (50+ lbs)
- Friendly, patient, and professional with clients
- Strong attention to detail and care with belongings
- Reliable and punctual
- Team-oriented mindset
- Valid Ontario G driver’s license
Requirements
- Must be eligible to complete a police background check
- Ability to travel within the GTA for jobs
- Willingness to learn and follow a structured process
Bonus (Nice to Have)
- Experience driving trucks, trailers, or large work vehicles
- Commercial or professional driving experience
- Interest in taking on a driver role in the future as the team grows
- Experience with basic handyman or setup tasks (e.g., hanging pictures, mounting TVs, assembling/disassembling furniture)
Work Details
- Location: GTA (Aurora, Newmarket, Markham, Barrie and surrounding areas)
- Equipment is currently stored in Barrie, where team members can park their personal vehicles, with flexibility to meet at other agreed-upon locations across the GTA
- Schedule: Primarily weekdays, occasional weekends
- Hours: Part-time to start, with opportunity to grow into full-time
