The Role:
As a Senior IT Support Specialist, you will provide the highest level of troubleshooting and assistance to the IT technical services team. The role involves designing and implementing projects, resolving escalated support tickets, maintaining and configuring network infrastructure, as well as monitoring performance and integrity of complex computer systems. Success in this position depends on strong technical expertise, coupled with the ability to quickly diagnose issues and clearly convey solutions to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform technical interventions, analyze causes and provide escalation services for all workstations and network connectivity;
- Provide remote and occasional on-site assistance;
- Install and configure computer hardware, components, networking software and operating system software;
- Assist in the planning, documentation, implementation, and support of the clients computing infrastructure including servers, LANs, and WANs;
- Support in the monitoring, configuration, upgrade, and overall maintenance of Windows Server hardware, operating systems, and related services, including providing recommendations on changes and assistance to the Active Directory structure, such as in user management and Group Policy;
- Implement and support network security and access controls, including firewalls and security policy;
- Responsible for system backups, archiving, and disaster recovery;
- Monitor the daily performance of computer systems verifying the integrity and availability of all systems;
- Analyze and determine service priorities, plan daily travel schedule, coordinate with other team members to ensure optimal service delivery; and
- Build and maintain high quality customer relationships through consistently demonstrating a high level of professional service and demeanour.
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge and experience with network infrastructure and tools: LAN, WAN, VPN, VOIP, Routers, Wireless Access Points, Switches, and Cabling;
- Strong understanding of Windows Operating Systems, O365, MS Office Productivity Software (cloud and on-premise);
- Equipment installation and maintenance experience with proven troubleshooting skills required;
- Proficient in advanced hardware management including device manager, driver troubleshooting and system optimization;
- Results oriented with the capacity to successfully manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines; and
- Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships through reliable completion of responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Degree in computer science or equivalent;
- Minimum 5 years experience in IT services;
- Valid Class 5 drivers licenses with clean abstract;
- This position requires full-time, on-site work. Remote work is not available for this role;
- Must be bondable; and
- Authorized to work in Canada.

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
