We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating various machinery and equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The Machine Operator will be responsible for ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality control.
Responsibilities:
· Demonstrate understanding and application of Health & Safety policies, including recognition and reporting of potential hazards and/or violations
· Ensure a food safe work environment, including recognition and reporting of non-conformities
· Ensure proper supply levels of required resources for continuous production
· Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
· Operate equipment as required for continuous production
· Complete assigned tasks during production and changeovers, including assisting in setup and teardown/sanitation of equipment
· Initiates effective usage of idle time (If-Down-Do)
· Communicate effectively to maintain a productive and positive team environment
· Demonstrate active involvement during investigations
· Demonstrate active participation in required training, including the training of others
· Any other duties as assigned by Lead Hand or Front Line Leadership Team
Duties which enable successful execution of responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
· Maintain sufficient supply levels of materials and resources for continuous production
· Loading, unloading, and transportation of materials
· Preparing required materials for continuous production
· Operating and maintaining equipment
· Ensure sufficient supply levels prior to departure from job/location
· Assist in relieving other employees (including other classifications)
Required Skills & abilities
Ability to interpret concepts (and prevent deviations) and apply good manufacturing processes
Effective and active problem solving through cooperative discussions of ideas and suggestions
EXPECTATIONS:
Machine Operator 2 (MO2’s) is expected to be present and prepared by their scheduled shift start time (clocked in, fully dressed, restroom breaks taken, required tools in hand, work location validated).
Afternoon Shift 1 pm to 9:30 pm
Starting Pay $22.50/hr
Afternoon shift premium 0.75/hr between 6 pm to 11:59 pm
Overtime After 40 hrs

During the overlapping shift times, MO2’s are expected to :
1. Assist in preparation (i.e. fill material containers/skids at line, etc.) and cleaning for the oncoming shift
2. Effectively communicate current line status and/or issues observed to the oncoming shift.
3. MO2’s are expected to notify their Lead Hand or Supervisor before leaving their scheduled position outside of the designated break times.
RESPONSIBILITIES THAT ENABLE CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Sufficiently supply materials or ingredients to equipment
- Fill hoppers, bins, and magazines as required
- Initiate effective use of idle time (ask for directive if unsure)
- Clean equipment and surrounding area, including organizing parts and pallets
- Empty food waste and recycle containers
- Refill PPE stations
- Reclaim/Recycle materials, including pallets
- Validate traceability of materials used – Document and identified
- Participate in job rotations as designated, in order to facilitate recovery after higher physically demanding activity
- Assist in other locations during breaks or upset conditions
- All other duties as assigned by Lead Hand or Front Line Leadership Team
RESPONSIBILITIES THAT ENABLE EFFICIENT CHANGEOVER (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Empty catch pans into food waste and recycle bins
- Assist in removing and transporting idle equipment
- Clean product contact surfaces, including removing visual residue from responsible equipment
- Perform general cleaning of surrounding area
- Assist in part change and/or setup of equipment
- All other duties as assigned by Lead Hand or Front Line Leadership Team
