Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Junior Accountant will be a key member of the accounting team at Atlas by overseeing the accounts payable process and corresponding ERP system. The successful candidate will provide timely processing of invoices, approvals, and payments; while also providing other full cycle accounting support in accounts receivable, procurement, monthly journal entries, month end procedures, working paper preparation, and other duties as required. An idea candidate will be experienced in accounts payable and full cycle accounting, excels being involved in overall business, has exceptional attention to detail and be able to thrive in a fun, fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Reports to: Assistant Controller
Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for entire accounts payable process for 3 companies
Leadership role in Sage X3 ERP accounting system
Main point of contact for AP inquiries
Organize and facilitate electronic matching of invoices to purchasing documents
Process invoices and attain appropriate approvals
Payment application on invoices
Other full cycle accounting duties as required, such as accounts receivable
Reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts as required
Correspond with vendors and perform vendor account reconciliations
Make recommendation to Assistant Controller on outstanding accounts and payments
Support purchasing department with credit applications
Assist with period end reconciliations and reporting
Assistance with payroll processing and payroll entries as needed
Any other ad hoc reporting and processing as requested.
Document management within all systems (Sage, SharePoint, SalesForce, etc.)
Minimum 3 years of accounts payable and full cycle accounting experience
Prior experience in ERP accounting software, preference given to Sage experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent, preference given for added post-secondary education
Experience working with Sage X3 and report building
Experience in SharePoint business platform
Experience in manufacturing/inventory accounting
Experience in foreign currency payables
Experience in month end processes
Experience processing payroll
Experience in year end working paper preparation
Skills and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of accounting procedures, practices, and methods as it relates to the AP and full cycle accounting function
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to handle large volume of transactions
Strong analytical and intuitive accounting skills
Uphold confidentiality, ethics and demonstrate a high level of discretion at all times
Proficient in spoken and written English
Ability to multitask and adapt to an evolving environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
Effective communication skills
