InSync Systems Inc. is a privately-owned boutique Canadian Resourcing and Consulting Services Company that works closely with a range of corporate clients across multiple industries to bring them solutions that effectively address their business needs.

Our client is looking for a Web Content Writer for a 6 month contract position with possibility of extension in Calgary, AB.

The web content writer will support the development of a new web portal. Supporting a high performing team, this role is responsible for coordinating, organizing as well as writing and creating content and articles to appear on the web portal. This includes but is not limited to new: news articles, employee features, blog posts, and more, as well as curating and organizing content from other sources and authors.

The ideal candidate will have proven writing experience and the ability to organize and present information effectively in a digital format.

Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the SH&E Services and IT teams, prepare a plan for writing articles and creating content to support the goals of the SH&E web portal – to inform, engage and inspire employees about SH&E topics, project innovation, and employee recognition
Research, curate, organize and edit content from a variety of sources – such as video, social media, photos, graphics, external newsletters, and user-generated submissions. Effectively transfer, re-organize and re-format content from existing SH&E documents (Word, PowerPoint, PDFs, emails) to the web
Contribute to organizing new web page content and presenting SH&E information online in an effective, compelling and meaningful way
Write and create content in a style and voice that is accessible, friendly and compassionate
Organize, draft and post online content using a SharePoint publishing platform
Work with stakeholders across the company to interview them for articles or gather existing articles on SH&E topics to adapt
Have a consistent process to proofread, edit, fact-check, and gather and incorporate feedback
Become knowledgeable in their SH&E vision and goals, and help set the tone for a safety culture of commitment

Required Skills:
A degree or diploma in Communication, Journalism, English, or Media, or equivalent education or experience
Proven work experience as an Internal Communication Specialist, Writer, Journalist, Content Creator, Copywriter or similar role
Outstanding English writing skills in a variety of formats and styles – including news articles, web copy, blogs and more. A portfolio of writing samples will be requested.
Experience organizing and presenting information effectively through web & digital media. Preferably hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (SharePoint preferred)
Knowledge of different online media including video, photos, graphics and social media
Experience interviewing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to create engaging web articles is an asset
Experience working with translation services or language skills in Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset
A focus on quality, accuracy, and making a meaningful impact in your writing style
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Other software skills such as video editing, Adobe Creative Suite, are an asset. You are comfortable learning new software and technology.
