Job Summary
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a unionized warehousing team in Fort McMurray. Oversee operations and provide guidance and direction across the supply chain network. Manage a team consisting of warehouse operators and collaborate with site training, safety, and management teams. Maintain accountability and ensure contractual requirements and company delivery service levels are being met.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to operating standard procedures and manage physical facilities, people, and equipment in a safe and profitable manner.
- Plan and direct warehouse operations, procedures and support to meet prescribed productivity and service levels.
- Ensure timely resolution on quality assurance issues, overages, shortages, and damaged freight.
- Develop and maintain a productive, motivated work force by ensuring effective hiring, training and development of all personnel at site.
- Interphase with on site customer and business line to coordinate execution of service.
- Provide timely and appropriate performance reviews to all warehouse personnel.
- Oversee and effectively manage resources including warehouse budget, consumable supplies, and overtime.
- Ensure employees adhere to company procedures and policies.
- Assist in achieving and maintaining on time delivery goals.
- Communicate with senior management on operational focal points.
- Implement, and maintain appropriate programs to ensure that all safety and housekeeping standards and objectives are met, while minimizing safety incidents.
- Ensure compliance to regulations regarding training competencies for staff
- Maintain equipment and services to assure security of customer and company assets.
Qualifications:
- College/university degree with a focus on Supply Chain Management, Warehousing and/or business management, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in warehousing and logistics management, as well as supervisory experience is necessary.
- Skills in planning, controlling, staffing, organizing, and communicating are required.
- Working knowledge of supply chain distribution, warehousing, and oilfield operations
- Strong IT background, preferably within SAP/EWM or similar WMS is an asset
- Exceptional time management skills and an ability to work within strict deadlines.
- Strong judgement, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent client facing communication skills, and customer service focus.
- Required to pass Drug & Alcohol Test.
- Required to pass Fit for Duty Test, if necessary.
- Proven experience in labour relations and dealing with unions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00 per year
