Overnight Senior Companion
Location: Vancouver, BC
Schedule: Overnight Shifts (Exact Schedule to Be Determined)
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and attentive Overnight Senior Companion to provide support, supervision, and companionship for a senior family member during overnight hours. This position is ideal for someone who is patient, caring, and committed to ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of seniors.
The successful candidate will provide a reassuring presence throughout the night, assist with occasional needs, and communicate any concerns to family members.
Key Responsibilities
Overnight Support & Supervision
- Provide overnight companionship and supervision
- Be available to assist with nighttime bathroom visits if needed
- Ensure the senior's comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the night
- Maintain a calm, secure, and comfortable environment
Personal Support
- Prepare water, medications, or other nighttime necessities as directed
- Provide reassurance and emotional support when needed
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent situations
- Assist with light overnight needs as required
Communication & Monitoring
- Observe and report any changes in condition, behavior, or well-being to family members
- Maintain clear communication regarding overnight observations and concerns
- Follow established care routines and family instructions
Qualifications
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English
- Previous experience in senior support, caregiving, companion care, healthcare, or a related field preferred
- Patient, compassionate, dependable, and attentive
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Comfortable working overnight shifts
- Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergency situations
- First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset
