Lifestyle Assistant – Leaside, Toronto, ON
The Career Foundation is currently looking for a Lifestyle Assistant on behalf of one of our employer partners located in Leaside, Toronto. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with seniors, creating engaging activities, and enhancing quality of life through meaningful programs and events.
Position Summary:
The Lifestyle Assistant will support the Lifestyle Manager in delivering engaging recreational, wellness, and social programs for residents. The successful candidate will play an important role in planning, organizing, and facilitating activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and engaging group and one-on-one activities for residents
- Organize and prepare materials and spaces for scheduled programs
- Assist in planning activities designed to maintain and improve residents’ quality of life
- Support physical fitness and wellness programs
- Work collaboratively with volunteers to deliver activities and events
- Maintain accurate documentation and evaluations of activity programs
- Monitor residents’ participation and report changes in health or wellness to the Lifestyle Manager
- Assist with onboarding and orienting new team members and volunteers
- Participate in regular reviews and improvements of the lifestyle program
- Ensure activities are delivered in accordance with ethical standards and duty of care requirements
- Support the creation of a positive and engaging environment for residents and staff
Qualifications:
- Previous experience coordinating activities, recreation, or wellness programs for seniors preferred
- Experience leading physical fitness or recreational programs is an asset
- Experience working with volunteers is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative, energetic, and compassionate approach to programming
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to observe and report changes in residents’ well-being
- Police background check with vulnerable sector screening may be required
- Flexible availability, including weekends and special events
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
