Edmonton Pediatrics & Heart Clinic is seeking an MOA for Full Time. The clinic is a specialized pediatrics cardiology clinic located in South Edmonton. We are seeking someone who can work independently and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greet each patient in a prompt, polite and friendly manner. Warm, friendly personality, energetic, enthusiastic, polite, tactful
- Answer all phone calls and take messages, book appointments and receive, direct and relay telephone, fax and email messages.
- Facilitate communications between patients and health care professionals
- Multi-tasker with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail
- Secondary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Register and schedule patients, appointment bookings, re-bookings, cancellations.
- Performing ECG’s on patients and accurately documenting patients' medication list and vitals in EMR (HealthQuest)
- Assign patients to Exam rooms.
- Transcribe and process physician orders.
- Review and process incoming faxes and other documentation related to referrals, recalls and consultations.
- Complete forms and documentation related to specimens, tests, etc.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Track and order clinic inventory and clinical supplies.
- Assist and prepare exam rooms.
- Cleaning duties as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Required successful completion of a Medical Office Assistant program and or certification.
- Knowledge of Medical terminology
- Knowledge of NetCare and EMR is an asset, preferable Healthquest
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new software and computer operations.
- Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills minimum 60-80 wpm required.
- Outstanding communication skills, excellent command of the English language (written and oral); excellent phone demeanor
- Developed problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.
- Effective multi-tasking, time management and organization skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing focused patient care.
- Clear criminal record check (at the cost of the candidate).
- Clear child welfare and intervention check.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certifications (Basic Cardiac Life Support).
Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
