We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator & Project Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of construction, maintenance, rehabilitation, and operational projects across our irrigation district.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on estimating experience in a competitive civil construction environment who enjoys developing accurate project estimates, coordinating multiple projects, and working closely with operations teams to deliver practical infrastructure solutions.

What You'll Do
As a key member of our Project Management team, you will:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for routine construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects.
- Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts.
- Analyze labour, equipment, material, subcontractor, and indirect costs using practical construction knowledge.
- Monitor project costs, schedules, and budget performance throughout project delivery.
- Coordinate planning activities across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance.
- Support procurement and tendering through cost analysis and bid evaluation.
- Prepare project reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical costing information, and productivity benchmarks.
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, project planning, and project delivery processes.
- Assist with project documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in civil construction, estimating, project planning, project coordination, construction management, or project delivery.
- Experience preparing competitive construction estimates for small to medium-sized projects, preferably within a contractor or competitive bidding environment.
- Practical experience in civil or heavy construction.
- Experience developing project budgets, estimates, financial forecasts, and monitoring project costs.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- PMP, Gold Seal Certification, or other estimating or construction-related certification.
- Experience with irrigation systems, water infrastructure, utilities, municipal infrastructure, or heavy civil construction.
- Knowledge of procurement, tendering, and contract administration.
- Experience working on grant-funded infrastructure projects.
Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
