Purpose
- Survey underground development and longhole stopes as required.
- Survey mark up for underground diamond drilling and longhole drilling.
- Perform weekly ventilation survey.
- Assist planning team as required for development driving layouts, longhole drilling and blasting layouts, and monitors progress to ensure monthly forecast is achieved.
- Assist with ground control inspections and audits as required.
Responsibilities
- Complete weekly vent surveys.
- Ensure compliance with regulations in terms of monitoring and posting ventilation flows
- Perform development and longhole stope surveys in a timely manner
- Process data and issue drawings illustrating findings to those concerned
- Maintain surveying equipment
- Assist with month end reporting
- Develop plans and designs that are safe, cost effective and provide for efficient ore extraction with available resources.
- Optimize production and minimize dilution through mine designs and mine plans.
- Produce LH drilling and blasting layouts
- Produce LH month end (Tonnes Broken, Tonnes drilled, drilled reserves)
- Perform stope engineering reconciliation
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in safety by reviewing existing engineering designs and implementing new designs.
- Develop plans and designs for regulatory compliance and compliance to Company policies, procedures and standards.
- Promote and adhere to Company safety policies
Training and Education
- Mine technician or Mining Technologist Diploma from an accredited college or equivalent diploma in related discipline combined with related practical experience.
- Two years combined underground engineering and surveying experience.
- Underground common core modules are considered an asset
- Be technically competent and have a good understanding of U/G mining methods
- Able to learn new skills quickly
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong commitment to working in a safe manner.
- Motivated individual able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Deswik.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive total compensation package including:

- Company contributions and matching into a Defined Contribution Pension Plan; and
- Annual total compensation of CAD$123,432 to CAD$152,475 (including annual bonus eligibility).
