Position Overview
An established industrial facility is seeking a Junior Wastewater Plant Operator to support daily wastewater treatment operations. This role is ideal for individuals with at least 1 year of relevant experience in wastewater treatment or process chemistry.The position involves hands-on work in a dynamic environment focused on safe, compliant, and efficient treatment of wastewater from electroplating and industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems including electroplating-related processes
- Perform routine operational duties such as pumping tanks and manual bulk chemical additions
- Conduct inspections, sampling, and performance checks of treatment systems
- Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Safely handle hazardous chemicals, strictly following safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Operate a forklift to transport chemicals, equipment, and materials is an asset
- Assist with basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and recordkeeping
- Work collaboratively with plant personnel to support continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial wastewater treatment, chemical operations, or a related field
- Foundational knowledge of process chemistry and environmental compliance
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and following standard operating procedures
- Ability to handle and respond to hazardous material protocols appropriately
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative in a team-focused environment
- Able to do rotating shift (mandatoyr)
Job Type: Full-time
