Role Overview
We are seeking a licensed electrician with experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in an industrial environment.
The successful candidate must hold a valid 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Certificate of Qualification issued by Skilled Trades Ontario. Their certification must be active and in good standing, with their authorization to practise verifiable through the Skilled Trades Ontario Public Register.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, wiring, equipment, controls, and fixtures.
- Diagnose electrical faults and restore equipment operation safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and required corrective work.
- Work with motors, drives, control panels, sensors, production equipment, and electrical distribution systems.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable health and safety requirements.
- Follow lockout/tagout and other established workplace safety procedures.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel, production teams, contractors, and other trades as required.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and completed work.
Qualifications
- Valid 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Certificate of Qualification issued by Skilled Trades Ontario.
- Active authorization to practise and good standing verifiable through the Skilled Trades Ontario Public Register.
- Red Seal endorsement is considered an asset.
- Minimum of three years of experience working as a licensed electrician.
- Previous electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and inspections on industrial electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and fault-finding abilities.
- Ability to work safely and independently while collaborating effectively with a maintenance team.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% as required.
