Reporting to the Regional Manager, this full time role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the WSIB Specialty Program, to ensure quality care through the effective and efficient delivery of established standards within legislative and budgetary requirements. As the go-to person in all areas of the region, the QA Manager will mentor and support in creating a culture that embodies CBI Health Group values, as they go about establishing and maintaining consistent systems and structures, aligned with best practices, and drive and standardized reporting. We will count on you, as a Quality Assurance Expert, to lead and manage, identify and optimize, opportunities for improvement, and develop an integrated regional strategy of innovative processes, procedures and protocols that support compliance in all areas of the WSIB Specialty program.

PRIMARY DUTIES

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will:
Plan, organize, direct and supervise the activities of the department to provide quality care within WSIB Guidelines.
Manage and implement quality management and quality improvement programs for the WSIB specialty program on a provincial level for CBI’s Outpatient Segment.
Maintain all required records, reports, statistics, etc., for both stakeholders and clinicians in accordance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
Liaise and consults with stakeholders, government officials, company resources and professionals in relation to WSIB program needs and department activities.
Develop instructional material to assist staff in becoming orientated to the WSIB Program operations; determine the effectiveness of orientation materials and processes through direct observation and in collaboration with registered staff members on the team and the managers of the clinics.
Create, prepare and present comprehensive reports and summaries.
Serve as facilitator and adviser to external agencies, building strong relationships with colleges, government and other key partners
Lead the Continuous Quality Improvement team in the completion of the quality protocols and program evaluations.
Create action plans and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
Manage other assigned projects, ensuring effective teamwork and communication, high quality of work, organizational performance and continuous learning.
Anticipate what stakeholders want and manage expectations.
Provide input into business decisions, service delivery model and developmental opportunities.
Ensure that service delivered aligns with key performance indicators (KPIs).
Align local objectives with corporate goals and functional goals, identifying business metrics to meet and exceed the CBI vision and values.
Organize resources to solve problems and make tough decisions as an independent and as a team player.
Ensure best practices are met and adherence to guidelines is established with clinical staff on a local, regional and central level.

QUALIFICATIONS

To take on the role of Quality Assurance Specialist, you must:

Have a BSc or BA in Kin Degree.
Be registered with the college of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
2 – 3 years in clinic/rehab experience.
Have at least three years of working experience as a Kinesiologist in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a health care setting.
Experience in quality improvement and risk management (an asset).
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Have a leadership style that creates and encourages participation and commitment to organizational objectives and values the contributions of staff.
The ability to motivate, lead, train and manage staff in a fast-paced environment.
Possess highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution, project management and problem-solving skills.
Be results-oriented, adaptable, well organized and able to function independently.
