The Manufacturing Technologist improves the company’s manufacturing through the research and development of new tools, processes, machines, and equipment in the most effective, efficient and economical way possible.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Support all phases of the manufacturing process focusing on safety, efficiency, quality, cost improvements, on-time delivery
Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and throughput
Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments
Actively support manufacturing in any problems with equipment and processes
Identify improvement opportunities (reduce cost, eliminate wastes, improve cycle time and capacity, improve production flow, reduce raw material consumption, etc.)
Project management of improvement projects (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory)
Project management of transition projects (in sourcing, outsourcing, repositioning)
Creating and issuing fully detailed manufacturing instructions including applicable metrology and inspection plans
Provide documentation support (manage change documentation system, work instructions, process flow charts) as required by manufacturing
Support in investigation of non-conformance to determine root causes and develop and implement corrective action with follow-up as required
Contributes to the development of work instructions, equipment logs, material specifications and other tracking documents
Working closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate and implement technical training documents for the employees
Sets a positive example by maintaining a respective attitude, cooperating with co-workers, management, and internal and external customers
Be a productive team member and help to meet established departmental and Company goals
Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees
Perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent/ bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
5+ years experience in working in the manufacturing technology field
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for automation
Comfortable working with Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills
Strong skills in manufacturing and process engineering
