This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $16.60 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.
This is a posting for an existing permanent part-time position.

As a Cake Decorator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, visually appealing cakes and desserts that meet customer expectations and company standards. You’ll work closely with the bakery team to ensure our department is well-stocked, organized, and consistently provides an exceptional shopping experience.

What You’ll Do:
- Decorate cakes and other bakery products according to customer requests and company standards.
- Prepare icings, fillings, and decorative elements following recipes and guidelines.
- Write personalized messages on cakes neatly and accurately.
- Ensure all decorated products meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
- Assist with packaging and labeling finished products.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations, tools, and decorating equipment.
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels of decorating supplies and notify management when items need replenishment.
- Assist customers with cake orders, including providing recommendations and taking custom requests.
- Support stocking and merchandising of bakery displays as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient department operations.
- Assist with special promotions, seasonal displays, and additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Prior bakery experience and product knowledge is recommended
- Customer service driven
- Strong Communication Skills
- Able to follow recipes
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends
