Our growing Mississauga client who is a leader in distribution is looking for a Shipping Supervisor to join their team. The candidate must have a minimum of 3-4 years Supervisory experience in a warehouse and will be responsible for the following:
1. Develops and manages shipping schedules
2. Develops and executes strategic initiatives to drive results
3. Develops work schedules to ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials and equipment.
4. Promotes the continuous improvement of product and process. Identify solutions to issues, and investigate and trouble shoot problems.
5. Ensure that all production equipment is properly maintained, in partnership with maintenance
6. Promotes a harmonious work environment where fairness, equity and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.
7. Ensure an on-going approach of coaching, training, disciplining employees, and enforcing policies and procedures.
8. Ensures that all areas of the plant floor are clean, tidy, and organized
9. Promotes and manages safety within company guidelines.
10. Supervises the labour force in accordance with management guidelines.
11. Achieves freight rate
12. Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Job Description Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Minimum 2 years of community college in supply chain logistics or related field. 2. 5 years of related experience of hands-on logistics and leadership experience 3. Strong technical and process skills
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Good understanding of all related roles within his / her field of responsibility.
6. Ability to process orders, track shipments and coordinate warehouse logistics. 7. Excellent organizational multi-tasking abilities.
Hours 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri
Salary 65K plus annual bonus
