A Quality Control Inspector at Lopes Limitedis responsible for performing a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality, reliability and regulatory standards.
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with quality standards as per Quality Manual and procedures
- Inform Shop Supervisor/ Shop Foremen of any required repairs
- Perform retesting and inspection after repairs have been made
- Inform Shop Supervisor/ Shop Foreman when item is acceptable
- Perform with quality inspection and testing reports
- Create Quality Dossier
- Organizing and documentation of proper storing and calibration of all quality control equipment and materials
- Ensure wire cages are organized and wire is properly stored
- Collect packing slip from Tool Crib or transport driver
- Verify for correct material type, size, and quantity against packing slip
- Record material in receiving book and assign a receiving number
- Label material with job number, receiving number and part (if applicable)
- Initial packing slip and hand-in to Tool Crib
- Check that Material Test Reports (MTRs) and chemical compositions comply with ASME codes
- Enter receiving reports into database and file
- Assist the Tool Crib with entering tools and equipment into Tool and Equipment Inventory database
- Assist the Tool Crib with entering items into the Shop Inventory database
- Assist Quality Control Manager (QCM)
- Support Quality Control Assistant
- Assist in Tool Crib
- Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested by supervision.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 to 10 years experience in Quality Control
- We are looking for a person who has CGSB level II MPI, LPI and level 1 UT. The candidates would also need a minimum of CWB level 1 visual.
- Driver’s license G, including reliable transportation to commute to work. Company vehicle will be provided to work on sites.
- Experience dealing with third party inspectors
- Ability to work at height
- Strong Blueprint reading skills including strong understanding of Geometric Dimension & Tolerance
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Including, communicating effectively with employees, supervisors and vendors.
- Computer proficiency, with strong emphasis on MS Word, and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
