About the Role

The WCB is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with strong investigative skills to join our


The success of injury prevention and return to work are driven by building stakeholder and public

confidence, achieving financial sustainability and making ongoing service improvements for workers and

employers. This role enables the WCB to maintain a clear focus on reducing workplace injuries and their

human and financial impacts for both workers and employers of NS.

The work of a Special Investigator involves the investigation of allegations of misrepresentation including

fraud, in an effective, efficient, lawful, sensitive and confidential manner. They liaise with federal and

provincial agencies to share information and consult with other sources as necessary.

As an ideal candidate, you possess:
  • Minimum of a 2 year accredited or recognized Criminal Justice Program and/or completion of
Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a related social science field such as
criminology, forensic crime and intelligence analysis, sociology, psychology.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fraudulent and investigative work
  • Experience in conflict management and negotiation.
  • A valid Nova Scotia driver’s license.

regulations; reporting any illness or injury immediately to their manager; reporting unsafe acts and
unsafe conditions; and cooperating with occupational health and safety initiatives. We are a

We offer a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $62,268 – 77,760
