Trade-Mark Industrial Inc. is looking for an experienced Hydraulic & Cylinder Service Technician or Foreman to join our growing hydraulic group as a Shop Foreman, who will lead the day-to-day operation of our cylinder repair shop. If you have real hands-on experience in hydraulic cylinder repair, rebuilding, inspection, troubleshooting, and testing and you are ready to lead a busy repair shop from the floor, this your ideal role.

The Hydraulic Cylinder Shop Foreman role involves providing leadership to our experienced Hydraulic Cylinder Service Technicians that provide both in-shop and on-site support doing (but not limited to) component repair (valves, pumps, motors, hoses, fittings, cylinders), component installations, system troubleshooting, circuit design, machine installations, start-up and commissioning.. etc. The candidate will work with our technicians as well as other trades to efficiently and effectively get the customers back up and operational as promptly as possible. Role Responsibility
- Run the daily workflow of the hydraulic cylinder shop.
- Assign work and set priorities for technicians.
- Keep jobs moving and identify delays before they become problems.
- Provide hands-on technical support during cylinder disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing.
- Ability to comfortably inspect, diagnose and repair Damaged or leaking seals, Scored rods and barrels, Damaged chrome, Bent rods, Worn bushings,Excessive clearances, Damaged pistons and glands, Barrel damages, Contamination-related failures, Mechanical damage and Premature seal failure
- Address assembly and testing issues
- Determine repair requirements and identify components requiring machining, chrome, welding, honing, or replacement.
- Review measurements, fits, tolerances, and repair requirements.
- Coordinate work between the cylinder shop, machine shop, purchasing, and management.
- Ensure repairs are completed correctly and meet company quality standards.
- Review completed cylinders before testing and release.
- Troubleshoot difficult or unusual cylinder failures.
- Maintain accurate job notes, measurements, labour entries, and inspection information.
- Train and mentor technicians.
- Hold employees accountable for productivity, workmanship, housekeeping, and safety.
- Maintain an organized and efficient shop.
- Work hands-on with technicians.
Requirements
- The position requires individuals with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an industrial, agricultural, commercial or construction background working on or with hydraulic cylinders.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Journeyman or equivalent trade certification is an asset, but not required. (Millwright, Pipe fitter, Mechanic etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Detail orientated with the ability to work both independently and with others.
- Ability to problem solve and think on the spot.
- Basic computer skills.
- Candidate must be in good physical condition and be able to work in all types of work environments.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have an ability to get to and from job sites as required.
- Tube/pipe bending skills an asset.
- Ability to make decisions without needing constant direction.
- Ability to organize a busy repair shop.
- Ability to lead experienced tradespeople.
- Ability to identify bad workmanship before it leaves the shop.
- Understands the difference between getting a job done quickly and getting it done properly.
- Takes ownership when something goes wrong.
- Holds themselves and others accountable.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on industrial environment.
- Willing to get dirty and help the team.
