As a member of Paladin’s Finance team, the Financial Analyst will have a pivotal role in driving growth and profitability by working closely with operational leaders and executives to uncover and act on emerging trends in the numbers, evaluate potential acquisition targets and make informed pricing decisions on new contracts. This person will bring a sharp analytical mind along with strong communication and interpersonal skills to drive new insights supported by financial modeling, and interactions with seasoned business decision makers. This position is based in our Burnaby, BC office and reports to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.
As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for:
Generating and communicating insights around key performance indicators that serve as a call to action for operational leaders
Working closely with the VP Finance and EVP’s to enhance the financial forecasting model for better line-of-sight into profitability
Supporting the annual budgeting process, working closely with Branch Managers and EVP’s to pressure-test key assumptions
Analyzing monthly financial performance, providing a continuous feedback loop that ties back to the key budget assumptions and business decisions made throughout the year
Supporting Branch Managers with pricing decisions for new and renewing contracts based on an in-depth knowledge of cost drivers
Assisting with financial due-diligence and modeling on potential acquisitions
You bring a track record in Financial Planning & Analysis with the following qualifications:
1-3 years in FP&A at a mid-sized company or equivalent experience
Experience in analyzing information from ERP systems to explain key financial results
Paladin will support candidates working towards CPA or CFA designation
Experienced financial modeler with ability to quickly understand and extend existing models
Data extraction, transformation and analysis using MS Excel and other tools
Bonus: Experience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, Anaplan, MS SQL or similar tools
