What the Job Looks Like:
We are currently seeking a Full Time Forklift Operator/Dock Worker to join our team.
Edmonton Afternoon Shift – 2:30pm to 11pm (with a 30 min lunch)
In this role, you can expect to:
- Operate a counterbalance forklift (safely and efficiently)
- Load/Unload shipments using necessary equipment (lift truck/forklift) which includes lifting up to 50lbs
- Perform load securement (using load bars, straps and plywood)
- Inspect contents and condition of freight being shipped.
- Perform inventory management
- Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars and lifting devices.
- Accurately ship and receive product as per dispatch instructions
- Support Dispatch with accurate documentation
- Follow all workplace safety policies, and compliance regulations
- Accurately weigh and document materials
- Provide product and destination information on tags and labels
- Assist with general building and yard maintenance as required
- Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Other warehouse duties as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Highschool Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum 2 Year of Forklift experience
- Shunting experience is an asset
- Experience in the transportation industry is preferred
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to weigh and measure items
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, safely and efficiently.
- Manual dexterity in order to use load securement equipment
- A strong commitment to safety and professionalism
- Time management and good work ethic
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed
