GENERAL SUMMARY
Role Overview: Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Lead (RN), the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides direct nursing care to Brentwood Recovery Home residents in a live-in addiction and mental health treatment setting.
Clinical Accountability: The RPN works within their legislated scope of practice, with clinical guidance and supervision from the Clinical Nurse Lead (RN), and follows organizational policies, professional standards, and accreditation requirements.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· Resident Care: Provide safe, person-centred nursing care to residents and monitor changes in their health status.
· Medication Administration: Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications as ordered, and identify and report medication discrepancies.
· Documentation and Communication: Document care accurately, maintain the confidentiality of health information, and communicate relevant clinical information to the interdisciplinary team.
· Scope of Practice and Compliance: Practise within the RPN scope of practice, seek RN guidance for complex or unpredictable situations, and follow organizational policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
· Risk and Incident Reporting: Identify and report incidents, risks, and safety concerns in a timely manner.
· Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Education and Registration: Diploma in Practical Nursing, with current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
· Relevant Experience: Experience in mental health, addictions, or live-in care is preferred.
· Clinical Skills: Demonstrated competence in medication administration and documentation.
· Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Language Skills: Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
· Temporary full-time position up to 18 months, with potential extension.
· Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends.
· Successful completion of a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
The current pay range is $23.00–$27.85 per hour, based on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
