Senior Building Automation Estimator

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Building Automation Estimator to join our team. This is a senior role responsible for leading the estimating process on building automation and controls projects from initial review through tender submission.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, operations, suppliers, and clients to develop accurate and competitive estimates while helping improve consistency and process within our estimating department.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge who understands not only how to price a project, but how systems are designed, installed, and commissioned in the field.
Responsibilities
Review project drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation to prepare accurate cost estimates
Prepare detailed quotations and tender submissions for building automation and controls projects
Coordinate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
Work with project managers and operations staff to align estimates with project execution strategies
Identify scope gaps, project risks, and opportunities during tender review
Attend site visits, walkthroughs, and client meetings as required
Assist with improving estimating standards, templates, and internal processes
Manage multiple tenders and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in building automation, controls estimating, or related industry experience
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control strategies, and BAS/BMS systems
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work independently and contribute within a team environment
Experience with Niagara, Johnson Controls or similar platforms is considered an asset

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
