Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Debate & Public Speaking Teacher to inspire students to develop their communication skills, critical thinking, and confidence. Under your guidance, students will debate in competitions, engage in Model UN, and take RCM exams.
Duties
- Plan and deliver interactive lessons on debate techniques, speech organization, and persuasive communication tailored to diverse age groups
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation, respectful dialogue, and constructive feedback
- Guide students through practice debates, speech presentations, and public speaking exercises to build their confidence and skills
- Assess student progress regularly and provide personalized coaching to enhance their speaking abilities
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a focused and respectful learning environment
- Incorporate multimedia resources and real-world examples to make lessons engaging and relevant
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials that align with educational standards and student needs
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring in debate, public speaking, or related communication fields
- Able to travel to vancouver and Richmond campuses
- Strong classroom management skills to create an inclusive and disciplined learning space
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey concepts and provide constructive feedback
- Ability to work effectively with students of various ages, backgrounds, and skill level
- Demonstrated ability to motivate students, foster critical thinking, and encourage active participation
- Organizational skills to plan lessons, track progress, and adapt teaching strategies as needed

Pay: $35.00-$55.00 per hour

Experience:
- Teaching debate competitions, MUN and RCM exam? : 1 year (required)
