Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional patient care and create a welcoming, positive experience for every visitor.
- Manage phone calls, book appointments, and ensure every inquiry is answered promptly and professionally.
- Keep the daily schedule running smoothly by supporting patient flow, monitoring appointments, and helping resolve delays with confidence.
- Maintain accurate patient accounts by collecting, recording, and updating personal and financial information with care.
- Support patients calmly and compassionately during urgent or stressful situations.
- Protect patient privacy by handling personal and financial information with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Assist the Optometrist with pre-testing and help deliver a seamless, high-quality patient care experience.
- Submit insurance claims to private insurance and OHIP.
- Manage patient referrals.
- Assist patients in ordering contact lenses.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as an Optometric or medical assistant is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience working with multi-line phone systems and managing front desk operations
- Office experience demonstrating proficiency in administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and data entry
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers
- Previous administrative or customer service experience is a plus
- Pre-Optometry students welcome to apply if student's have open availability.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
